Be a Good Neighbor – Be Bear Aware

New Jersey is home to all kinds of beautiful wildlife including black bears.

Black bears are getting a lot of attention these days, for the wrong reasons. They’re venturing too close to homes and into backyards, looking for food. Bears that look for food near your home or in your yard likely have learned bad habits from people who feed them intentionally, or unintentionally by carelessly leaving out food or garbage.

Licensing Your Dog

All dogs seven months or older must be licensed.  According to municipal and NJ law, proof of rabies vaccination is needed before a license can be issued. Dog licenses can be obtained by mailing in the licensing form and payment to Deanna Higgins, Animal Licensing Agent, P.O. Box 101, Sergeantsville, NJ  08557. For questions, please call her at (609)483-2665. The license fee includes a metal ID tag.

Delaware Township also requires cats be vaccinated and licensed each year.

All Dog and Cat licenses expire December 31 of the current year and must be renewed by February 28 of the following year to avoid a late fee.
