On or about March 15, 2021 Natural Systems Utilities (NSU) will be draining the DTMUA water tower to remove and replace isolation control valves that malfunctioned. This shutdown and repairs are necessary to continue operations and distribution of water into the system. The work is being overseen by NSU Engineering and performed by NSU Maintenance Services along with other contractors. Valve replacement is scheduled to take no longer than one day and NSU expects no service interruptions. During the shutdown an alternative clean drinking water source will be provided by a contract service company in the form of tanker trucks able to deliver clean potable water directly into the distribution system.
Please conserve water during this time. Not expected, but there may be some temporary loss in water pressure and discoloration of water during this activity. Valves and fittings will be disinfected and plans are to take POE “lab control” samples for total coliform and E. coli.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. This project will allow us to better serve the community and provide better service.
