Dear Delaware Township Residents-
I wanted to contact you once again with some updated information and details as we work through another week of the Federal and State Orders regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus}. We are in almost daily contact with our County and State officials, and they have been very responsive to the needs and concerns of our community.
M4ch has changed since our last correspondence, and it’s important that we remind everyone of the simple steps we can all take to protect ourselves during this uncertain time.
There are currently 120 confirmed cases of the virus in Hunterdon County, with 4 of those in Delaware Township. The Hunterdon Medical Center, as of now, is able to manage the caseload. They are being proactive as they plan for anticipated escalation
in confirmed cases over the coming weeks. Based on current numbers and statistical information, the County expects the spread here to peak sometime around mid-April.
By that time, they suggest the number of new cases will begin to decrease.
• We can all help the peak here to be less and the reduction in cases swift by:
Following the guidelines and staying up to date

Practicing Safe Social Distancing regularly – We have asked for social distancing when visiting Dilts Park, and residents have responded well to that request. As a precaution, we have begun to close portions of the park (playground and pavilion for example) in order to further comply with best practices. These measures are being taken strictly for the protection and safety of our residents. We can all sacrifice for a few more weeks to help keep our families and neighbors healthy.
• Other Township Information
Until further notice, Township Committee meetings will be virtual meetings through the Zoom Video Meetings. Residents may participate either by phone or on their computers using Zoom. Further details for joining the meetings will be on our website. All other township board and commission meetings will be cancelled for now as we work to get those available online as well.
