Sergeantsville Farmers Market
Is in Full Swing!!
The Sergeantsville Farmers Market kicked off its 5th season, opening Mothers’ Day weekend. Offerings started out with free-range eggs, local cheese, lettuce, asparagus, peas, radishes and grass-fed beef along with potted perennials, shrubs, hand-made baskets, custom embroidery, live baby chicks and pony rides to name a few. Recording artist Jim Rowland provided acoustic guitar and vocals to entertain the crowd. Since opening day, alpacas and alpaca wool products, locally handcrafted, organic aromatherapy products have joined the mix. Fresh, locally grown strawberries are about to arrive, and soon we’ll have sausage, sweet corn, tomatoes, beans and many more delights from local farms and gardens! A variety of entertainment is scheduled throughout the season, including The HCRHS Fiddlers, Chuck Schaeffer with his rockabilly, folk, and country rock sound, and cooking demonstrations with tips on how to use the seasonal bounty!!!
The Sergeantsville Farmers Market is a true, producers’ market, open each Saturday from 8:30 till noon, on the green near the center of the village. Vendors are all local, and their products must be grown, produced by the vendor, or have a significant percent of personal input. No franchised or mass produced items are sold and no “reselling” is allowed. New vendors are always welcome. Please call Jack at 908-268-3641.
The SFM would like to thank those who have supported the Market since the beginning, including the Township Committee, and Bobbi Horvath , owner of Bobbi’s Place in the center of town.
So come out each Saturday morning and meet new neighbors and old friends, and pick up the best, freshest foods, and most unique hand-made items money can buy. Remember, it’s not a real farmers market unless it’s a “producers’ market”! Help keep Delaware Township rural by supporting local farmers and producers.
See you Saturday mornings on the Green!!
